At First United Methodist Church we are serious about providing a loving learning environment where our children have the opportunity to “SPARK” and “IGNITE” their spiritual gifts and learn to live a God-led life.  We offer many programs throughout the year to help children grow in their faith.

It is our goal for children to know and experience God through the loving message of Jesus and the stories from the Bible. We want to build a strong foundation that will be everlasting!

Pre-school Sunday School
During all three hours of worship, Sunday school is provided for children age two, three, four and pre-school five in the children’s hallway off of the Gathering Area.

Kindergarten through Fifth Grade Sunday School, 9:45 a.m.
During this hour we offer programming that not only teaches children the Bible stories, it gets them excited about their faith! K-2nd graders meet in Room 230 and are learning how to live their faith 24/7 with an exciting, energetic program. Parents will pick up from individual classrooms. 3rd graders meet in Room 240 and are learning how to use their new Bibles.
4th graders meet in Room 235 and are learning more about the Bible in a hands-on, trivia game and study. Our 5th graders are learning how to “GRAPPLE” with their faith and how to apply that to every area of their lives. They meet in Room 244.

Kindergarten through Second Grade, 11 a.m.
During this hour we offer a Bible-based worship-filled hands-on Sunday school developed to help children grow in their knowledge and faith. This class will meet in the “Movie Room” (Room 236) at 11 a.m. for a time of worship and praise and will end in Room 242.

Third through Fifth Grade
We feel that it is very important for our children to have the opportunity to experience our worship service as well as Sunday school. We encourage our 3rd through 5th graders and parents to get involved in a 9:45 a.m. Sunday school class and attend worship as a family at 8:30 or 11 a.m.

Quality nursery care is available Sundays during worship and Sunday school. Child care is also offered for other church events when scheduled through the nursery coordinator. For more information contact Preschool Director Elizabeth Chambers,

Leave his mark

Ignite Children’s Ministry is excited to introduce our new children’s mission program Leave HIS Mark. It’s created by our very own Ignite Children’s Ministry Mission Team and is designed to give children and their families an opportunity to share the love of Jesus OUTSIDE the church. They’ll do this by giving back to our community through hands-on mission work, ultimately creating a life-long desire to serve others.

Join Leave HIS Mark in service this summer! Leave HIS Mark will be supporting Project Transformation, whose mission is to engage young adults in purposeful leadership and ministry, support under-served children and families, and connect churches to communities in need.

Join us 3 nights this summer, June 22, July 10 and August 1 as we provide entertainment, serve meals and say thank you to the families, interns and volunteers that make this program thrive!  This is an awesome opportunity for your ENTIRE family (or friends) to serve our community!
