SOCIAL JUSTICE

*The United Methodist Church (UMC) defines justice as treating all people with dignity and respect, regardless of their race, gender, or social status.

Church and Society Team

Our task is to raise awareness of social issues by educating our congregation and community, and by communicating opportunities for Christian advocacy and action in response to the needs of hurting people in God’s world.

*Organized under the UMC General Board of Church & Society, which is dedicated to the work of living faith, seeking justice, and pursuing peace.

HOW DO I GET INVOLVED

COME TO A MEETING! We meet the 4th Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. in Room 116 or join our “faith engagement movement” by clicking on the information below. Contact Cammy Gaston for more information.

EDUCATE

TEACH AND LEARN!

There are several opportunities to teach and learn Social Justice Issues in the Scriptures.

ADVOCATE

Take a Faithful Stand!

Church and Society Team prioritized three areas of emphasis for 2025.

TAKE ACTION

Moving Faith into Action!

Our involvement in political systems is rooted in the gospel imperative to love our neighbors, to do justice, and to care for the vulnerable.

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
