You haven't seen much of our youth since a good number of them last witnessed to us God's behind-the-scenes movement in, "The Bigger Picture" on Pentecost Sunday, June 5. That's because their witness has moved non-stop since they departed that Sunday on what was a four-state tour. The reviews were rave about their performances yes, but more importantly their witness of Christ and of FUMC Plano. But their witness did not stop with the tour.

Their bus broke down in Chillicothe, OK on their last leg home. Stuck under a highway overpass for shade, they were rescued by police and an Assembly of God church who bussed them, hosted them with pizza, and heard them sing before the new bus arrived from Dallas and got them back to the church at 1 a.m. Monday. By the time I arrived at 8:30 that morning to begin Vacation Bible School, 30 of the youth and adults from the choir tour were already there with their VBS t-shirts and smiles on – receiving and herding their young charges for three hours. Some of the youth and adults had gotten only 2-3 hours of sleep.

After five days of VBS, a good number of those same youth and adults will head to Colorado on Sunday for a week of mission and creative, connective work in the poorest county of southern Colorado where Cammy and I will host them. I could not be prouder than to serve alongside these faithful youth and adults - witnessing God's grace and the grace of FUMC Plano – wherever we go.
