About the United Methodist Church

As United Methodists, we have an obligation to bear a faithful Christian witness to Jesus Christ, the living reality at the center of the Church’s life and witness. To fulfill this obligation, we reflect critically on our biblical and theological inheritance, striving to express faithfully the witness we make in our own time.

General Conference typically gathers every four years. But because of the COVID pandemic, the assembly could not meet in 2020, so that means the last regular session was in May 2016 — nearly eight years ago. This year’s General Conference will meet in Charlotte, North Caroline, on April 23-May 3. If you would like to learn more the Rev. Cammy Gaston is a delegate to the General Conference, and she will be with us THIS Sunday, April 21, during the 10:00 Sunday School hour in the Sanctuary to talk about the process and the legislation that will be addressed. Come learn about issues in the larger church and how they make a difference at our church.
