Turns out that Freeborn Garrettson and his horse Pablo have been busy since we saw them in church a couple of weeks ago. They have been "spurring" on the people called Methodist to connect with FUMC Plano with their gifts and their service – their giving and their living – for 2022. Here is what Freeborn reported so far compared to 2019 when we had our last real stewardship emphasis:

  • 2019 – 171 Estimates of Giving $868,170.00

  • 2021 – 162 Estimates of Giving $954,092.00

Freeborn was very pleased with how people have stuffed his saddlebags the first two weeks and he is looking for more. I told him we have over 700 family units and need $2,000,000 to fund our mission for 2022. He assured me that he and Pablo would keep riding as the "Paul Revere of Methodism" to encourage our people to keep stuffing his saddlebags with those parchments of giving and living. You can complete your Estimate of Giving and Acts of Service online here! We need everyone to connect God and grace in your giving and living to reach our goals for next year. Thank you for your faithfulness.

Look for Freeborn and Pablo soon for the next update! In the meantime, I look forward to seeing YOU at the Mission Market this Saturday and Sunday.
