This All Saints Sunday is particularly important for two reasons. One is to light candles for those who have come before us and shown us the way of faithfulness. The second reason is to rekindle the fire of our own faithfulness.
Though two different words, both candle and kindle share the meanings of lighting, encouraging and glowing. It is time for us to do these things again as a church.
I challenge you and your family to make a concerted effort to be in the Sanctuary this Sunday at one of our All Saints services as we kick off the holiday season. We will be on our knees remembering our loved ones as we commune with them and "re-candle" our own faithfulness. Blessings.
