As I think about the many changes around us that seem to come faster than we can keep up, I am reminded of the centering prayer of Teresa of Ávila. It’s been used by many to good effect over hundreds of years.  As we continue our Lenten journey—now nearly half-way complete—I thought it would be a good time to share for our individual reflection and corporate reflection as a church.

Let nothing upset you;
Let nothing frighten you.
Everything is changing;
God alone is changeless.
Patience attains the goal.
Who has God lacks nothing;
God alone fills every need.
— Saint Teresa of Ávila (1515-1582)
